여러 프로세스 간에 공유되는 코드 및 데이터. 여러 프로세스 간에 공통적인 코드를 분리해서 공유함으로서 메모리를 절약하는 효과도 있고, 특정 코드에 대한 갱신이 필요할 때 실행 파일 전체를 새로 덮어쓰지 않아도 되는 장점이 있다.
